General Admissions Process
Documents from within Alberta
If you attended an Alberta high school or a post-secondary institution that participates in ApplyAlberta, the Office of the University Registrar will order official Alberta high school and post-secondary transcripts on your behalf. When you apply, you authorize MacEwan University to obtain your transcripts from Alberta Education and participating post-secondary institutions. You are not charged for transcripts we request on your behalf through ApplyAlberta.
Documents from other schools within Canada
You must submit transcripts from any other schools. You need to make arrangements with each educational institution you attended that does not meet the criteria above to order official transcripts and have them sent directly from the issuing authority to the Office of the University Registrar at MacEwan University. The processing time varies by institution and they may charge a fee.

If your program has additional admission criteria, it is important to complete those requirements as soon as possible after you have applied. This criteria may include:
- Supplying proof of English language proficiency
- Other program-specific admission criteria outlined in the admission requirements
1. Create your Apply Alberta
- Prepare the following:
- A MyAlberta Digital ID. You will be prompted to create a MyAlberta Digital ID if you do not already have one.
- Your Alberta Student Number (ASN). If you have applied to or attended a school or post-secondary institution in Alberta, you will already have an ASN. To find your ASN, you can use the ASN Lookup service. If you do not have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
- Names of all high schools and post-secondary institutions you have attended or are currently attending.
- High school courses and marks (for currently enrolled Canadian students only).
- A credit card or other accepted method of payment will be necessary to pay any application fees charged by the institution(s)

3. Confirm whether a supplemental application is required
4. If a supplemental application is required, review the following resources to make your supplemental application stand out! 🌟

5. Book a call with your dedicated Student Account Manager
- Plan out your admission and scholarship application process with clear strategies from the GrantMe team.
- Create tasks for the application.
6. Submit your application from Apply Alberta
- Use the university's application guide to help you with your application.
7. After application
- After you apply, the Office of the University Registrar will send a Network ID and temporary password to the email account listed on your application. If you have not received your Network ID within two weeks of your application, email admissions@MacEwan.ca.
- Use your Network ID and password to log in to myPortal.MacEwan.ca. You will be prompted to change your password the first time you log in.
8. Submit your required documents
9. Watch out for an email from the university
- After you apply, they willl start communicating with you through email. Check your inbox for information about timelines, transcripts and next steps.
10. Apply for scholarships and awards
- You don't need to wait for an admission offer to complete our entrance awards application.
11. Check on the status of your application
- Log in your student centre to find details on your application status, required documents and deadlines specific to your application.
